Marine Heritage Database
This database was compiled many years ago by SOS volunteers. It comprises the main part of the original S.O.S. database that was designed to be used at a kiosk in a museum. The largest portion consisting of 28, 000 records has now been web enabled here for your convenience. We hope this will be of use to you and please remember that these pages are copyright protected and can not be reproduced in print or other electronic formats. This information is for research purposes only. While every effort was made as to accuracy, we are not responsible for any typos or misinformation we gathered from other sources. Data is from sources as outlined to the best of our knowledge.
- Each detail record has the original source listed as per the list below
- A shipwreck may be listed in many sources with different data
- Data may be copyright in the original works and this is merely a cross reference
- Consult the actual book or works for detailed research
- We make no claim of accuracy, these records have been recorded as a best effort
- Make any reference to the original source and not S.O.S. as the source
